<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Tucson - Where we stayed: Tucson/Lazydays KOA Resort - this place was GREAT! All of the amenities that you expect with a KOA with a great location close to everything in Tucson. There are daily crafts for kids, a craft/play room with a rock wall, an RC track, pond, little library with books and games to borrow, a playground, two swimming pools, pickleball courts, mini golf, laundry, bathrooms, gym and scheduled activities - we loved our time here and plan to come back. They even have citrus trees on property that you can pick fruit from (ask for a fruit picker at the front office)! What we really appreciated was the price of this KOA; oftentimes, we find KOAs to be out of our budget but this was so reasonably priced.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Tucson - Brewery Spotlight: As always, we are on a quest to bring you recommendations for great local craft beer and/or food in cities all across America that also have a kid-friendly spaces. In Tucson, we really enjoyed MotoSonora Brewery. This brewery had a very chill vibe with a nice outdoor space for the kids to run around and lots of comfortable seating. The beer was good and they also have pizza available for food (we didn’t try it, but it looked delish!). They even have homemade sodas, which for our 5-year-old is pretty much the best thing ever. A great spot to stop if you are in Tucson!</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - St. Augustine - Where we stayed: Stagecoach RV Park. This was a nice full hook-up RV park with a very homey feel just outside of St. Augustine. While there did seem to be an older crowd here and not many kids, they did have outdoor games set up, swings and a basketball court for the kiddos. This park was very clean and well maintained with nice laundry and bath facilities as well. We also found it to be very reasonably priced for Florida!</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Guadalupe Mountains National Park - We did Carlsbad Caverns National Park and Guadalupe Mountains National Park in one day because that was all the time we had in the area, due to some inclement weather delaying us on our drive to here from Texas. So, it wasn’t our original plan (but RV life will teach you to roll with the punches!), but this is definitely doable if you don’t mind a full day of activities as the parks are only about a 30-minute drive from each other. We didn’t get to enjoy this national park as much as we could have, just because it was really windy and cold, and after already having a full morning, our kids just weren’t really up for much more. So, we only did the The Pinery Trail from the Pine Springs Visitor Center to get a view of the landscape, history, and local flora. This hike was easy for the kids to do and is only 0.75 miles. This route is paved, so it is also stroller friendly.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Cave City - Where we stayed: Cave Country RV Campground - with limited options in the Mammoth Cave area, this is a nice choice for an RV park. Very well kept grounds, full hook-ups, big rig friendly, daily trash pick up, a nice large dog park and a very clean swimming pool. No amenities for the kids besides the pool, but a great option for visiting Mammoth Cave National Park and surrounding areas. And if you’re into ice cream & good local coffee, Cave City Coffee & Creamery was within walking distance from the RV park which was a yummy treat!</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Carlsbad - This national park is definitely worth adding to your national parks list - the caverns are an incredible sight to see and it is a really unique national park to visit. We were only here for a day, so we didn’t get to do any above ground hikes, we only entered through the Natural Entrance and hiked the path down to the Big Room. This hike through the main entrance of the cave takes about an hour and a half. It can be steep at times and is quite dark, so plan accordingly with stable shoes and a flashlight. Our 5 year old was able to do the climb down without any problems, but he was tired by the time we got to the bottom, so we took the elevator back up to the top. Once you reach the Big Room, you can either hike back to the top to the Natural Entrance or you can take an elevator back up. This is a very large cave, so unlike Mammoth Cave, we were able to take the 1.5 year old in the large Osprey hiking backpack. As always, your kiddo can earn a Junior Ranger badge here, so don’t forget to get a book at the Visitor Center! FYI: you do have to have a timed entry to enter Carlsbad Caverns! So before you go, be sure to look online to book.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Rodanthe - Where we stayed: Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA - KOAs are notoriously perfect for families and this one was no exception. We were here during the winter months, so some of their offerings that make this park really great weren’t open, so we plan to make a trip back in the summertime! This RV park is just steps away from the beach, with an easily accessible boardwalk. With a pirate ship playground, jumping pad, huge pool, sand volleyball court, arcade and KOA scheduled activities, our kiddos loved it here.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Memphis - We have a few friends who live in Memphis, so this was just a quick 24-hour stop for a night to break up our drive en route to Kentucky. If you only have 24-hours in Memphis with young kids, we would recommend heading over to The Peabody Hotel to watch the world famous Peabody Duck March! This happens daily at 11am and 5pm and it was an absolute blast for the kids! Kids get to sit right along the red carpet and the Duckmaster puts on a fun show for the audience and gives a lot of history about the Peabody Ducks. This unique Peabody tradition began in the 1930s and is now internationally famous - the ducks have even been on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,” “Sesame Street,” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show”! With only a few hours in Memphis, this was a memorable activity for the littles.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Memphis - Where we stayed: Tom Sawyer’s RV Park - this was a nice spot on the Mississippi River. Technically, the park is located in West Memphis, Arkansas, but it is right across the river into Memphis. The kids really enjoyed watching the barges traveling along the river. We were only here for one night so we didn’t use any of the facilities and there didn’t appear to be a playground, but it was an easy (and cheap!) stopover that we would recommend for a night or two.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - New Market - Where we stayed: Endless Caverns RV Resort. My gosh, we loved this RV resort! When you think of camping nestled in nature with a campfire among the stars but still having the convenience of full hook-ups, this is it. The grounds were beautiful, the playground for kids was fun and there was even a game/event room, catch and release pond, and gem mine. Not to mention, there are actual caverns on the property that you can take a guided tour of for a small fee - talk about the coolest campground! There is also a camp store on site.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Fayetteville - Where we stayed: Bear Mountain Cabins & Campground in Fayetteville. This small campground is centrally located to all Fayetteville has to offer. The campground has full hook-ups nestled amongst the trees with a nice little playground for the kids. They also have cabins on site that are available for rent. There is a small camp store with ice cream at the front of the campground, but no laundry facilities on site. We are self contained and didn’t use the bathroom facilities here. Overall, it was a nice, clean, centrally-located campground that we would recommend staying at in the area.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Fayetteville - Brewery Spotlights: As always, we are on a quest to bring you recommendations for great local craft beer and/or food in cities all across America that also have a kid-friendly spaces. 1) Freefolk Brewery - with an awesome outdoor space, great beer and delicious food, this was a top notch dinner stop! The homemade pizza rolls & gyros were super delicious. In the words of our 5 year old “the best pizza rolls I’ve ever had!” 2) Bridge Brew Works - no food at this location, but the outdoor space with a large community fire pit was such a relaxing atmosphere after a day of hiking! The beer was delicious and the homemade root beer on tap was something our kiddo still talks about!</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge - Where we stayed: Cove Creek RV Resort - this RV park is in Sevierville so it is out of the hustle & bustle of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, which we loved. This also made it a cheaper option, but still very close to all that we wanted to do while we were here. This RV resort offers full hook-ups, a pool (open seasonally), playground, pond, laundry facility & bath house, so it made it a great RV park for the kids. The landscape is also beautiful, which is always a plus! Our main reason for visiting the area was Great Smoky Mountains National Park and after a lot of research, we decided to stay on the Tennessee side of the national park (instead of the North Carolina side) and we ended up being glad that we did since there were so many family friendly activities just a short drive away in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Glendale - Where we stayed: Bauer’s Canyon Ranch RV Park – this is a small, family-owned and ran campground that was a nice location with full hook-ups. This campground is located exactly 1 hour from each Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. They also have spots for tent camping, laundry facility and bath/shower facilities. Overall, we felt like this was a relaxing campground that was reasonably priced with a great location to the nearby area attractions. The spots are quite close together and the Wifi isn’t great, so if those things are important to you, this might not be the campground for you.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Glendale - Brewery Spotlight: Zion Canyon Brew Pub – this brew pub is a 5-minute walk from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and boasts great views of the iconic Zion skyline while you enjoy a beer on the patio. We stopped for a snack and a beer after a day of hiking and their charcuterie board was a fam fav of our whole crew! It’s more of a restaurant style, so nowhere for the kids to run around, but after a day of hiking Zion, they will most likely be pooped out anyway and be ready for a hearty snack.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Surf City - Where we stayed: Ocean’s RV Resort in Holly Ridge. WE LOVE IT HERE! The staff is amazing, the grounds are clean and well kept, and the sites are well maintained and spacious. There is an awesome playground, pool, workout room, and even a pool bar. They have a clean laundry facility and bathroom facilities. The resort also hosts events nearly every weekend for the kids & adults (we loved the kid’s Christmas party with crafts/treats and bingo with great prizes, & even a movie night). Just a gem of a place. Not to mention the great location - so close to all Surf City has to offer & only a 40 minute drive to Wilmington. I can’t say enough great things about all of the amenities, the awesome staff, wonderful events and the full-time families who live there were so kind as well. <image:title>DESTINATIONS - Surf City - Brewery Spotlights: As always, we are on a quest to bring you recommendations for great local craft beer and/or food in cities all across America that also have a kid-friendly spaces. In Surf City/Holly Ridge, there are two breweries that we really enjoyed. 1) Salty Turtle Beer Company - I wish this place had a better beer garden/outside area instead of being in a shopping center because holy moly, we absolutely loved ALL of the beers here! Unfortunately, it’s not a very kid friendly place in terms of having room for the kiddos to run around, BUT you’ve gotta stop for a quick beer, it’s just so dang good. No food selections here other than snacks, but they do have fun events like trivia nights. 2) Sandpiper Brewing - we stumbled upon this place kind of by accident as it was right next door to Ocean’s RV Resort, but we were glad we did! No food at this location other than snacks, but a nice outdoor area with room for kids to run around and good beers. This is a newer brewery, so as of our visit, they are only open Thursday-Saturday.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Key Largo - Favorite Food Stop: Island Grill in Islamorada - GET THE TUNA NACHOS. I can’t emphasize enough how much we crave these tuna nachos! They are THAT GOOD (and we didn’t even get a picture of them because we scarfed them down so quickly). The kids also really enjoyed their fish strips and it was a large portion for a kid’s plate. Plus, this is cool location for kids to watch the boats come in, as several people arrive to the restaurant by boat.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Key Largo - Where we stayed: Captain Jax Mobile RV Park. As with several RV parks in the keys, this one is a little snug, so if you are a big rig and not comfortable navigating tight spaces, tread carefully as this location might not be for you (we are 39 feet and it was a TIGHT squeeze)! But once you squeeze in, this place is a DREAM! Beautiful sunsets, a fishing pier, friendly full-time residents and locals. We absolutely love it here. And as with most RV parks in the Florida Keys, expect it to be pricey, especially during “snowbird season” in Florida (November-March). Also beware that they charge extra per person in excess of 2 people, so something to keep in mind for large families.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Everglades - Where we stayed: Long Pine Key Campground - This was a quick 2-night stop for us, so we just camped in Everglades National Park at Long Pine Key Campground without hook-ups. This is a really great campground in the national park that is easy to access and is affordable. There are other campgrounds in the national park that have full hook-ups, but we opted to boondock here as a cheaper option since it was only for two nights. There are bathroom facilities onsite.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Williams (Grand Canyon) - Where we stayed: Raptor Ranch RV Park - this RV park is just 30 minutes outside of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim entrance. Unless you stay inside the park, this is as close as you’re going to get to the entrance. This location has 36 RV sites, a camp store on site, fire rings, free WiFi, laundry facilities, and bath/shower house. The coolest part of this RV park is Bedrock City, which is a replica of the famous Flinstone’s town! Campground guests get in free and our kids loved playing here - it was actually a blast for the whole family. We enjoyed our stay at Raptor Ranch and would recommend it for an RV location close to the Grand Canyon.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Torrey - Favorite Food Spots: Capital Burger – this is a downright delicious food truck serving up quite possibly the best burger that I’ve ever had (and we’re from Texas, so we eat a LOT of burgers)! The blue cheese mushroom burger was SO good, you have to do yourself a favor and stop by this food truck to snag one while you are in the area. And after your burger, pop down the street to get ice cream at Color Ridge for THE BEST HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! The flavors here are so unique and creamily fantastic. And they do ice cream flights…so yeah, sign me up! In the same shop as Color Ridge Ice Cream, you will find The Wild Rabbit and Shooke Coffee. Be sure to come back to The Wild Rabbit for breakfast (or lunch), grab a coffee and then some delicious small-batch roasted coffee to go from Shooke Coffee Roasters. This little shop is absolute tri-fecta ofall of our favorite things…if there was a brewery next door, we might actually never leave (business idea?!). Point is, don’t miss it – trust us.</image:title>

<image:title>DESTINATIONS - Torrey - Where we stayed: We boondocked in an incredible area called Beas Lewis Flats. This is BLM land, so it is completely free to stay here and the views are spectacular, even though you have to “rough it” with no hook-ups. It is a well-known boondocking spot in the area, so while there is plenty of room, it can get busy on the weekends in good weather, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot. This location is also just minutes from the small and absolutely adorable town of Torrey and 15-minutes to Capital Reef National Park.</image:title>
